I have thirty years of hairdressing experience. After initial training, I moved to London gaining invaluable experience working in some top salons. An opportunity arose to travel the world, working on luxury cruise liners. It was during this time I developed my passion and flair for dressing more elaborate styles, including long hair. After working on cruise liners, I moved to Richmond, Surrey where I opened my own salon, which I successfully ran for twelve years. In 2000 I moved to Malvern and began to develop the idea for a personalised specialist service to brides in the Three Counties area.

I love styling hair for weddings, working with brides-to-be to achieve a look that is just right for them on their very special day. Since setting-up The Big Hair Day in 2007, I have had the privilege to work in some outstanding venues creating glamorous hairstyles that are much admired. I can create contemporary, classic or vintage hairstyles to match your wedding theme.

Valerie has been my trusted hairdresser for more than two years, so she was the natural choice for my wedding day. Our pre-wedding trial proved invaluable, so on the day we both knew exactly how my hair was to look.
Valerie’s experience and flexibility are both great assets, as is her calm and pleasant nature! Valerie had to brave the floods to reach my home on the morning of my wedding, and although it took her over two hours of driving through perilously flooded roads (usually a thirty minute drive) she did not give up and arrived in time to dress my hair and that of my four bridesmaids and my mother. Unfazed, Valerie organised us all and made the experience of preparing for my special day less stressful than it had begun! The bridesmaids all wanted a natural look, which Valerie achieved, so we were all very happy.
I received many compliments about my hair, and have no hesitation in recommending Valerie for bridal hair.
